Perfect Fishing Chairs for this Fisherwoman

So I was online looking at folding chairs for my kids sporting events (have you sat on an elementary school bleacher lately? Ow.) and I saw a chair that would work both for that and for my favorite unplugged-and-mommy-only pastime fishing. I pack up my gear and leave the house early in the morning, then plunk my hook in the water in the slow bits of Icicle River and read a book all day.

Anyway, I decided that this would be the best of fishing chairs. Its wide enough to allow for casting without banging my elbow if I'm careful. It even has a fold-out table for drinks and snacks and an accessory panel caddy for my sunscreen and baits and all that sort of thing. Oh, and my book, of course, one that is intended for readers older than the Sam-I-Am set.

Redington Cross-water the Perfect Entry-Level Rod and Reel

The Crosswater from Redington is an entry-level rod until it's not. According to my fishing enthusiast friends (I fish, and I enjoy it, but I am strictly amateur; these guys know their stuff) it's technically entry-level, but it sort of ranges into the mid-level range of rod/reel combinations. That's nothing to take too lightly.

Anyway, when I'm not sure, I consult an expert, regardless of the topic at hand. And while these guys are not officially experts, they are certainly experienced enough to give me an expert opinion on what would be a good rod and reel for me. Since they do not work for the sporting goods store, I felt comfortable taking their word for it that the Redington Crosswater will work for a beginner and for a long time.
